Parapan Am

Bermuda is seeking its first Parapan Am Games medal at TORONTO 2015.

At Guadalajara 2011, Jessica Lewis became the first athlete to represent Bermuda at a Parapan Am Games, racing in the women’s 100, 200 and 400 m (T53). Lewis went on to compete at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Bermuda first participated in the Pan Am Games at Chicago 1959. It has competed at every Games since with the exception of São Paulo 1963. With their eight medals – one gold, four silver and three bronze – Bermuda currently ranks twenty-fifth on the all-time medal list.

Mary Jane “MJ” Tumbridge is Bermuda’s lone gold medallist, winning the individual eventing equestrian competition at Winnipeg 1999.

Bermuda has twice won multiple medals at a Pan Am Games: a silver and bronze at Winnipeg 1967, and a gold and two silver at Winnipeg 1999.
