Parapan Am

Chile has competed at every edition of the Parapan Am Games.

At Guadalajara 2011, Chile sent 18 athletes to compete in five sports, winning medals in table tennis, powerlifting and wheelchair tennis.

One athlete to watch at TORONTO 2015 is table tennis athlete Cristian Dettoni, a singles gold medallist and team bronze medallist at Guadalajara 2011.

Chile has competed in every edition of the Pan Am Games since the beginning at Buenos Aires 1951.

The South American nation has never been shut out of the Games medal table, with most of its medals coming in athletics, equestrian and cycling.

In Guadalajara 2011, Chile won 43 medals – surpassing its previous high of 41 at Buenos Aires 1951. Their three gold medals included their first ever gold in swimming by Kristel Köbrich, who is expected to defend her title at Toronto 2015.

Chile currently ranks ninth on the all-time medals list, with 258 medals – 40 gold, 86 silver and 132 bronze.
