Parapan Am

Ecuador’s first appearance at the Parapan Am Games came at Mar del Plata 2003.

At Guadalajara 2011, Ecuador sent seven athletes to compete in athletics, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair tennis.

Powerlifter José Javier Mariño – gold medallist at Rio de Janeiro 2007 – is expected to compete at TORONTO 2015.

Ecuador has competed in every Pan Am Games since the beginning at Buenos Aires 1951.

The South American country has 86 medals in total and ranks thirteenth on the all-time Pan Am Games medal list.

Ecuador’s best medal tally came at Guadalajara 2011 where it won 24 medals with seven gold, eight silver and nine bronze. Athletics, boxing, racquetball and wrestling produced multiple medals for Ecuador.

Jorge Bolaños, gold medallist in men’s roller speed skating at Guadalajara 2011, will try to repeat his win at TORONTO 2015.
