El Salvador has competed at all editions of the Parapan Am Games.
The Central American country has won a total of three medals – one each of gold, silver and bronze medals. Heading into TORONTO 2015, El Salvador is ranked sixteenth on the all-time Parapan Am Games medals list.
At Guadalajara 2011, El Salvador sent 47 athletes to compete in six sports: athletics, football 5-a-side, goalball, table tennis, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis.
El Salvador has competed in the Pan Am Games since the beginning at Buenos Aires 1951.
Currently ranking twenty-fourth on the all-time Pan Am Games medal list, El Salvador has won 19 medals with one gold, seven silver and 11 bronze.
The country’s best performance came at Rio de Janeiro 2007, winning 10 medals. Cristina Lopez brought home El Salvador’s first-ever gold medal in the women’s 20 km race walk.
At Guadalajara 2011, Evelyn Garcia won silver in cycling for the individual time trial, and she is expected to compete at TORONTO 2015.
