Women's Singles _ Michelle Li, Markham Ont., defeated Barb Berruezo, Argentina, 2-0 in the round of 32. Rachel Honderich, Toronto, defeated Tahim Oropeza, Cuba, 2-0 in the round of 32.

BASEBALL

Men _ Canada (1-0) defeated the Dominican Rep. 4-1 in the preliminary round.

BMX

Men _ Tory Nyhaug, New Westminster, B.C., won the gold medal in the super-final in 36.208 seconds.

CANOEING FLAT

Women's K4 500m _ Canada (Michelle Russell, Fall River, N.S.; Émilie Fournel, Lachine, Que.; KC Fraser, Oakville, Ont.; Hannah Vaughan, Dartmouth, N.S.), won the gold medal in one minute, 36.495 seconds.

DIVING

Men's 3m Springboard _ Philippe Gagné, Montreal, won the bronze medal in the final with a score of 421.20. François Imbeau-Dulac, St-Lazare,Que., finished sixth with 398.40.

Women's 10m Platform _ Roseline Filion,Laval,Que., won the silver medal in the final with a score of 377.60. Meaghan Benfeito,Laval,Que., won the bronze medal with 357.45.
