Men's Singles _ Andrew D'Souza, Ottawa, defeated Pablo Macagno, Argentina, 2-0 in the round of 64. D'Souza defeated Gareth Henry, Jamaica, 2-1 in the round of 32.

Women's Singles _ Michelle Li, Markham Ont., defeated Barb Berruezo, Argentina, 2-0 in the round of 32. Rachel Honderich, Toronto, defeated Tahim Oropeza, Cuba, 2-0 in the round of 32.


Men _ Canada (1-0) defeated the Dominican Rep. 4-1 in the preliminary round.


Men _ Tory Nyhaug, New Westminster, B.C., won the gold medal in the super-final in 36.208 seconds.


Women's K4 500m _ Canada (Michelle Russell, Fall River, N.S.; Émilie Fournel, Lachine, Que.; KC Fraser, Oakville, Ont.; Hannah Vaughan, Dartmouth, N.S.), won the gold medal in one minute, 36.495 seconds.


Men's 3m Springboard _ Philippe Gagné, Montreal, won the bronze medal in the final with a score of 421.20. François Imbeau-Dulac, St-Lazare,Que., finished sixth with 398.40.

Women's 10m Platform _ Roseline Filion,Laval,Que., won the silver medal in the final with a score of 377.60. Meaghan Benfeito,Laval,Que., won the bronze medal with 357.45.


Individual Dressage _ Brittany Fraser, New Glasgow, N.S., finished second with a score of 76.105 on All In and qualified. Chris von Martels, Ridgetown, Ont., finished fifth with 75.026 on Zilverstar and qualified. Belinda Trussell, Stouffville, Ont., finished sixth with 73.440 on Anton and qualified. Megan Lane, Collingwood, Ont., finished eighth with 70.900 on Caravella and qualified.

Women's 52kg _ Ecaterina Guica, La Prairie, Que., defeated Gretter Romero, Cuba, in a 1/4 final match. Guica defeated Angela Delgado, U.S., in a 1/2 final match. Guica lost to Erika Miranda, Brazil, in the gold medal match but won the silver medal.

Women's 48kg _ Erin Morgan, Calgary, lost to Isandrina Sanchez, Dominican Rep., in a 1/8 final match.


Women's 10km _ Jade Dusablon, Quebec City, finished seventh in the final in two hours, four minutes, 36.7 seconds. Samantha Harding, Minneapolis, Minn., finished eighth in 2:04:37.7.
