Pan Am Games | July 10 - 26, 2015

Parapan Am Games | August 7 - 15, 2015

Hello world

Message to new volunteer applicants

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games.
At this time, the majority of general volunteer positions have been filled. However, the volunteer portal will remain open for individuals interested in applying to be a just-in-time volunteer. Just-in-time volunteers are critical to the success of the Games since we anticipate that some volunteers will become unavailable as we get closer to the summer, requiring us to backfill volunteer roles.

In addition to just-in-time volunteers, we are still actively recruiting volunteers with the following specialized skills:

  • medical doctors and practitioners
  • all drivers (especially with Ontario F-class licences)
  • experience in press operations
  • advanced French- and/or Spanish-language skills

If you have any of the above specialized skills, or are interested in being considered as a just-in-time volunteer, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

How cool would it be to play a role in bringing the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games to life? Very! And now’s your chance for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

More than 23,000 lucky volunteers, just like you, will be the heart of the Games. Along with getting a high-five from PACHI our mascot, volunteers will receive:

  • A sneak peek of the Pan Am Games Opening Ceremony created by Cirque du Soleil.
  • Access to exclusive TORONTO 2015 promotions and events.
  • A discount on TORONTO 2015 merchandise.
  • Games-time access to public transit with accreditation.
  • Meals and refreshments during shifts.
  • The opportunity to receive a volunteer certificate. (It will look great on your wall!)
  • Invaluable volunteer hours and work experience.
  • The chance to meet international athletes, officials and sport association leaders.
  • Comprehensive training to ensure you’re well prepared and confident on day one.
  • The opportunity to network, make lifelong friends and try your hand at something new.
  • The chance to have fun and be at the heart of the hottest event in 2015.
  • And if that’s not enough, you’ll also receive a snazzy uniform.

It’s pretty hard to say no to all of that, right?

From now until the Games, there will be tons of volunteer opportunities. Watch Colin Mochrie, improv icon and Canadian treasure, show how to prepare to be a TORONTO 2015 volunteer.

The Coach: One of Canada -- and Ontario's -- greatest exports is comedy. Yes, comedy beat out lumber, maple syrup and beer. Go figure. To support the launch of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games volunteer program and showcase the dedication and commitment of volunteers, TORONTO 2015 enlisted the support of Colin Mochrie, improv icon/Canadian treasure and The Second City, Toronto.

Volunteers will be the heart of the Games as we welcome the Pan Americas to our diverse and vibrant region in the summer of 2015. Do you have what it takes to join us?

While watching the video, you may view closed captioning in any of the three official languages -- English, Français, Español -- of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games by clicking "CC" on the YouTube toolbar.

So, is your interest piqued? Are you ready to join the team? We hope so!

Some volunteer positions require specialized skills and work experience, while others simply require a desire to roll up your sleeves and pitch in. Beyond the unique skills and talents of our volunteers, which may include the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound, we’re looking for volunteers who:

  • Are friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoy helping people.
  • Have great communication skills.
  • Are reliable.
  • Love working as part of a team.
  • Have a good sense of humour.

Ways to Volunteer

During the Games

Volunteering is your chance to share your talents and be part of something unlike anything else. No matter what your skills are, we’re certain there’s a volunteer opportunity perfect for you.

Volunteers will work in all areas of the Games. They’ll prepare the field of play, take tickets, usher spectators to their seats, shuttle athletes and dignitaries to venues or participate in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies (How amazing would that be?!).

To apply for a Games-time volunteer role, visit our Volunteer Portal.

Before the Games

There are lots of ways to get involved with TORONTO 2015 before the Games! We need volunteers to help with planning, events, transportation and community outreach.

Visit to check out our current pre-Games volunteer opportunities. They’re updated frequently, so make sure you check back often.

Students who volunteer for the Games will receive OSAP interest- and payment-free grace period extensions or reduced pre-study contributions. For more information about this fantastic program, visit the Province of Ontario website
